Planners making homes site plea

House construction
The council says it wants to explore all possible locations for new homes

People in a south Devon district are being asked to suggest sites for possible new housing.

Teignbridge District Council's planning authority is currently drawing up a list of places that could be developed.

The council said there was the potential to build almost 19,000 new homes in the district.

It is asking local landowners and members of the public for help in coming up with possible locations for new affordable housing.

Suggestions for new sites for travellers and Gypsies' pitches are also being sought.

The council said there was no guarantee that any site suggested would be developed, but said it was important to explore all possible locations.

Anyone wishing to suggest a site needs to do so by 30 January.
