Man dies when car hits road sign

A driver killed when his car hit a road sign in Dorset is believed to have fallen ill at the wheel.

The man, from Axminster, Devon, was driving a Rover 75 when it crashed on the A35 near Charmouth at about 1800 GMT on Wednesday night.

His wife, who was a passenger in the car, was unhurt. The identity of the dead man has yet to be released.

Officers are appealing for anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
